Hormonal regulation of Spermiogenesis

The entire process of spermatogenesis is controlled by three important hormones FSH, LH and testosterone:

1. The Hypothalamus (limbic system) releases Gonadotropin Releasing Hormone (GnRH) that signals Anterior Pituitary to release Leutinising Hormone (LH) and Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH).

2. LH stimulates the Leydig cells of the Testis to secrete Testosterone.

3. Testosterone in combination with FSH stimulates the Sertoli Cells inside the semineferous tubules of the Testis to activate Spermatogenesis.
